Born and educated in Estonia, Thomas Edur is an acclaimed ballet star, one of the best dancers of his generation and arguably the best ballet artist of all time, bringing pure technique and unmatchable depth to all of his roles (as voiced by many renowned dance critics). Thomas Edur has enjoyed 19 year association with English National Ballet (ENB) as leading Principal and guest artist. Respected dancer, teacher and choreographer with a lifelong commitment to promoting excellence in dance, Thomas Edur has been a patron of the British Ballet Organization since 2004.
In 2001 Thomas was presented with the Order of the White Star by the President of the Estonia Lennart Meri. In 2010 her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II gave order to Thomas to be appointed as Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE), in recognition of his services to the arts in the UK and UK-Estonia cultural relations. And in 2014 was nominated as “Best Artistic Director“ at the „Taglioni European Ballet Awards“ in Berlin, for his achievements as artistic director and also for putting Estonian National Ballet on a world map of dance.
